No unique twist to this case.  Just another creep trolling the internet for underage girls.  I have to give the girl credit.  She got uncomfortable with the tone of the of the chat and told her mother.  Her mother notified police.  The creep has a one-year old son.

A parent’s worst Internet nightmare nearly came true in Chesapeake when a man took a bus 2,500 miles to meet a 13-year-old girl he had met on the social networking Web site MySpace, authorities said this week.

Plus, he had a return bus ticket in the girl’s name, a federal agent said Tuesday.

After hearing explicit details of the alleged crime, a U.S. magistrate judge ordered Jesse Lee Wise, a 2 5-year-old door-to-door salesman from Nevada, jailed without bond pending grand jury action.

Wise had set up a tent in a wooded area by the Chesapeake library on Cedar Road, not far from the girl’s house, and sent her sexually explicit messages through the library’s computer, according to court records and testimony.

In a sting operation, Chesapeake police and the State Police arrested Wise on July 17 at the library, while Wise believed he was chatting with the girl over the computer. By that time, he was actually chatting with an undercover trooper… (more…)

Talk about f–ked up family values.  No matter how much money one nets from the robbery, think how much you lose as a father!  The surveillance video shows a young girl who looks terrified.

Sherrif’s deputies say they have identified a man suspected of robbing convenience store at gunpoint with his 9-year-old daughter at his side.

Kittitas County Undersheriff Clayton Myers said phone tips from people who saw the story on the news helped investigators identify the man as 42-year-old Robert Daniel Webb of Everett.

Another nominee for Dad of the Year.

The robbery that prompted the investigation occurred at the AM/PM Mini Mart just off I-90 at exit 101 around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Myers said the man believed to be Webb approached the counter, drew a gun and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied and the man then left with the little girl, whom police have identified as Meadow, without further incident.

“I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a little girl with her dad on an armed robbery,” Myers said. “How anyone could endanger a child like that? You never know how someone is going to react when you pull a firearm out. How the clerk’s going to react, somebody walking in? Absolutely can’t even imagine it…”

I can’t imagine the savagery of such a crime.  I don’t understand how someone so twisted and demented can think she would be a fit mother.  Murder negates all the maternal instincts of a woman.  The perp was arrested after showing up at a shelter with the child but no papers.  At least the child is alive and well.

A woman suspected of carving a nearly full-term baby girl from her friend’s womb and passing the newborn off as her own was being held on $2 million bail Thursday.

Julie Corey, 35, has been charged as a fugitive from justice. She appeared in district court in New Hampshire via video from the county jail, a day after she was arrested at a homeless shelter in the state, allegedly with the live infant.

She said little during the hearing, at which Judge Gerald Boyle ordered all police affidavits in the case sealed…

The baby is said to be “in fairly good health,” police said. The infant’s mother, 23-year-old Darlene Haynes, was about 8 months pregnant when she was killed.

Corey did not waive extradition to be brought back to Massachusetts. The judge scheduled a hearing for Aug. 30.

This is low, even for a lawyer.  The clients of this lawyer sued after a plane crash killed family members.  The lawyer took settlement funds and deposited them into his account and then spent the money elsewhere.  I have always had a dim view of lawyers.  This guy has done nothing to alter that view.

A lawyer who allegedly defrauded the victims of a fatal plane crash.

A lawyer accused of bilking the relatives of victims of a deadly plane crash has pleaded not guilty to felony charges.

During an appearance in 5th District Court on Thursday, court records said that Matthew Terry Graff, 38, waived his preliminary hearing on a pair of second-degree felony counts of unlawful dealing of property. His attorney, Greg Skordas, entered the plea on his behalf.

Graff represented the husbands of two women who died in a plane crash last year near Moab. Ten people died in that crash. Graff is accused of depositing settlement funds from a lawsuit into his private bank account, but spending the money elsewhere…

This is the sexually-perverted teacher of the week, this week anyway.  This guy was not only a teacher but a mayor and, of course, a preacher.  Now he’s facing 15 counts of rape.  Not exactly the upstanding member of society one expects from a mayor.

The de-evolution of Keith Gillins: from preacher to teacher to accused rapist.

Juab County prosecutors have leveled first-degree felony rape and forcible sodomy charges against a Millard High School teacher accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

The charges were filed last week against Keith Lorraine Gillins, 61, accusing him of engaging in sexual acts with a teenage girl over the Easter weekend of this year. Court records indicate Gillins was arrested on the new charges and booked into the Juab County Jail.

Gillins is facing similar charges in neighboring Millard County, where he was due to appear in 4th District Court Wednesday. Court records indicate the hearing was continued until Aug. 3. He is charged with 15 counts of felony rape and forcible sex abuse in that case…
