Marijuana Dealing Leads to Double Murder

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

It isn’t often one reads of marijuana dealers killing each other.  That sort of capital behavior is usually reserved for harder drugs like heroin or cocaine.  The victim allegedly was fronted some marijuana by the killer and agreed to sell it on his behalf.  However, the victim did not bother to repay the dealer.  Frustrated, the dealer killed the man and his wife.  I guess marijuana doesn’t mellow everyone out.

murder suspect kirk miller

Now Kirk can chill in an orange jumpsuit.

A Harrison County man has been arrested on charges that he killed a Calhoun County couple in April.

Kirk Alan “Bucky” Miller, of Salem, was arrested Thursday after an almost three-month investigation into the deaths of Julie and Mike Flanagan at their home on Left Fork Road, near Millstone, according to State Police.

The Flanagans were found dead in their home by their daughter, who came to visit them April 14. The couple died of apparent gunshot wounds.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Calhoun County Magistrate Court, Miller had sold marijuana for Mike Flanagan since around Feb. 1.

Flanagan allegedly agreed to split any money from the drug dealings with Miller, but did not keep his promise, according to the criminal complaint. Miller allegedly said that he repeatedly asked Flanagan to pay him.

After being rebuffed several times, Miller decided to kill Flanagan weeks before the actual shooting, according to the complaint…

Daycare Owners Dealing Pot on the Side

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Hey, it’s tough owning a small business these days.  What is a struggling entrepeneur to do when expenses exceed revenues.  For Sherwin and Donna Rogers, dealing drugs out of their daycare was the answer.  Their plans went awry when three armed thugs showed up to rob the place.  Nothing says we care about your kids like a shootout among drug dealers.  It makes one wonder where they came up with the name for their business: Special Moments.  Nap time must have been special indeed.

Donna Rogers was allegedly dealing pot from her business: a daycare for kids.

Donna Rogers was allegedly dealing pot from her business: a daycare for kids.

The accused pot-dealing owners of a Brooklyn day care center were arraigned in a Brooklyn court Sunday.

Donna Rogers, 37, and her husband, Sherwin, 36, were charged with marijuana possession after cops shot a gun-toting robber at their Special Moments Day Care Center on E. 52th St. in East Flatbush.

A judge set bail at $50,000 for Donna Rogers and $25,000 for her husband.

Cops weren’t happy that the couple weren’t slapped with stiffer charges.

“It put kids at risk,” said a police source. “The shooting happened right exactly where the kids were sleeping…”

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Details are light so far, but it is always unusual to read of a female rapist, though this woman does have the shoulders of a linebacker.

Lindsey should have tried out for the New York Giants instead of dealing drugs.

Lindsey should have tried out for the New York Giants instead of dealing drugs.

After a year-long investigation into the death of a Saugerties teen, police have charged a 24-year-old woman with rape, homicide and drug-dealing, officials said Saturday.

Lindsey Latourette, also of Saugerties, was arrested Friday after a grand jury handed down an indicment against her Thursday in the death of 15-year-old Evan Wisniewski. The teen’s mother discovered him unresponsive June 14, 2008, in the bedroom of his Latham Circle home, police said. He was later pronouced dead, and an autopsy found that he had died from a drug overdose.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the Ulster County District Attorney’s office investigated the teen’s death and presented evidence to the grand jury. The indictment charges Latourette with criminally negligent homicide, rape and criminal sale of a controlled substance. She was sent to Ulster County Jail. Men Cook Murder Victim

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

It’s hard to have sympathy for any of the players in this tawdry little story.  On the one hand, the victim is a drug dealer who spread misery and addiction in his wake.  On the other hand are two drug dealers who solved their personal financial crisis by murdering their creditor.  They cooked his body in order to facilitate disposing of the remains.  Quite frankly, these guys all deserve each other.

Read the entire story here:

Two longtime friends were accused yesterday of killing a suspected drug dealer, dismembering the body, and then “cooking” the remains at a Walpole concrete business.

Daniel P. Bradley, 47, of Westwood and his high school friend – Paul Moccia, 48, of Dedham – pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges in Wrentham District Court and were ordered held without bail.

The two men, who became friends while attending Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury decades ago, are accused of conspiring to kill Angel Antonio Ramirez, 37, on March 20 in Walpole, said Assistant Norfolk District Attorney Robert Nelson.

Nelson said that Moccia owed Ramirez $70,000 in an outstanding drug debt and decided that he was going to kill Ramirez, 37, instead of paying him. Nelson said Moccia sold kilos of cocaine he received from Ramirez, a Guatemalan immigrant who obtained his cocaine from the West Coast.

Nelson said Moccia lured Ramirez to Walpole, shot him once in the back with a .357-caliber revolver, and then he and Bradley moved Ramirez’s body to R.J. Bradley Co., a concrete business co-owned by Bradley.

Bradley then dismembered Ramirez’s body and took one more step to eliminate any trace of the Guatemalan man’s existence and his death, Nelson said.

“It was cooked,” the prosecutor said of Ramirez’s body…

Pregnant Drug Smuggler Sentenced to Life

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

This woman is lucky she wasn’t sentenced to death.  Although I’m not so sure life in a Laotian prison is much better than hanging.  Here’s the real kicker to this story: the woman became pregnant while IN prison, apparently from another prisoner.  And she did so to avoid the death penalty.  However, England has some sort of bizarre prison swap agreement wherein she may not have to spend much – or even any – time behind bars.  And who says crime doesn’t pay.

Samantha may have to worry about standing out in prison.

Samantha may have to worry about standing out in prison.

A pregnant British woman was sentenced to life in prison for heroin trafficking by a court in Laos today. A panel of judges found Samantha Orobator, 20, guilty of trafficking 680g (1.5lb) of heroin last August, when she was caught trying to board a plane to Thailand.

A British Embassy diplomat who attended the trial said: “We are now seeking access to Samantha so we can discuss what we can do next.”

Orobator, who became pregnant while imprisoned, could have faced the death penalty. It is hoped that she will not spend much time in jail in Laos thanks to a prison transfer deal struck between David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary and the Laos government last month. Laotian officials, however, could still veto her return…
