Internet Hookup Leads to Murder

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

This girl sounded very trusting – too trusting.  She boarded a bus to meet a guy she met on myspace and ended up dead. Her hope was for a better life for herself and her children.  Along the way she met a guy who got arrested for drugs and spent the night in a shelter.  It’s bad enough to have one’s hope for romance dashed, but it is doubly tragic to have a young mother’s life snuffed out so cruelly.

A Spring Hope mother chasing Internet romance and dreams of a better life for her children was found dead this month in Southern Ohio.

Decomposing human remains found July 12 in Scioto County were identified Monday through dental records as 20-year-old Nichole Ann Alloway, authorities announced, more than a month after Alloway was reported missing from the nearby city of Portsmouth, Ohio.

Authorities have not released a cause of death, but they are investigating the incident as a homicide, officials said.

Diane Dille wept Tuesday as she recalled the Internet love affair that pushed her granddaughter earlier this year to board a bus due north for Ohio. Alloway traveled alone to Portsmouth to meet in person with an 18-year-old man. The two had met through MySpace, Dille said, and Alloway was sure it was love.

Dille said she supported Alloway’s choice to visit, although she didn’t think her granddaughter’s trip was a good idea, she said. Alloway’s 3-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son remained in Spring Hope.

“She went up there because she thought she could have a better life for her and her children,” Dille said. “She was going to go live with this 18-year-old because she didn’t feel like she was going anywhere down here, and she was convinced this was going to give her a fresh start and a life of her own…”

Father Pimps Out Son to Cops

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Hell will be a little more crowded when this stool patty dies.  Frank Lombard thought he would do a nice thing and adopt an infant son, an otherwise unwanted child in a cruel world.  However, this was not an act of love but one of sexual deviance.  Frank has been molesting his son and recently offered him up to another pervert he met online.  He was busted by an online sting after another pervert indicted for a similar crime tipped off police.

A monster in disguise?

A monster in disguise?

A Duke University official has been arrested and charged with offering his adopted 5-year-old son for sex.

Frank Lombard, the school’s associate director of the Center for Health Policy, was arrested after an Internet sting, according to the FBI’s Washington field office and the city’s police department.

According to an affidavit by District of Columbia Police Det. Timothy Palchak, an unnamed informant facing charges in his own child sex case led authorities to Lombard.

Authorities said that Lombard tried to persuade a person — who he did not know was a police officer — to travel to North Carolina to have sex with Lombard’s child.

The detective’s affidavit charges Lombard identified himself online as “perv dad for fun,” and says that in an online chat with the detective, Lombard said he had sexually molested his son, whom he adopted as an infant…

Spam King Faces Prison

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

I have never understood how someone worth tens of millions of dollars is supposed to view a fine of $1 million as anything other than a joke.  If I knew I could make 20 or 30 million but would eventually have to pay a million dollar fine and spend a few years in prison, I might take the plunge.  This guy allegedly made $3 million in one summer alone.  Now he is going to be an investigator-for-hire.  I disagree that this is somehow a victory for law enforcement.

This is the face of all those Viagra emails.

A West Bloomfield man identified by a federal prosecutor as “the world’s most notorious illegal spammer,” pleaded guilty Monday to federal fraud and money laundering charges.

Alan M. Ralsky, 64, known as the “Spam King” for his years as a prolific and sophisticated e-mailer for hire, entered pleas before U.S. District Judge Marianne O. Battani to crimes that could cost him $1 million and put him behind bars for more than seven years.

Ralsky also agreed to help the government in future investigations in return for a possible reduction in his sentence.

For years, Ralsky has flooded the Internet with unsolicited promotions for everything from mortgages to male enhancement pills.

He pleaded guilty to being the mastermind of a scheme that boosted the value of “pink sheet” Chinese penny stocks by spamming tens of millions of Internet e-mail addresses with promotional messages.

When the prices rose, Ralsky and his co-defendants unloaded their stocks at a profit, according to government investigators.

It was alleged that Ralsky made about $3 million from illegal spamming in the summer of 2005 alone…

Male Nanny Admits to Sex Abuse

Friday, June 19th, 2009

There are a few lessons to take away from this case.  First, never hire a male nanny – never.  Second, don’t hire anyone with buggy eyes.  It’s a sure sign of something hideous trying to get out of one’s soul.  Third, do a thorough interview and background check on anyone even remotely involved in the care of your family.

Read the entire story here:

Douglas Shepherd, 23, left his Fort Myers, Fla., home to take a job watching kids in Grand Isle County. But investigators say once he arrived this spring, the nanny turned out to be a pedophile. Court records show Shepherd checked himself into Fletcher Allen Health Care telling a nurse he was suicidal because of ”my attraction toward a kid I was watching.”sexual-assault-suspect-douglas-sheperd

Investigators allege Shepherd engaged in numerous sex acts with a 10-year-old boy. It began with hugging and kissing and escalated from there. Police say he was grooming his victim, a common tactic of child predators.

Shepherd was paid $350 a week to watch two kids. He was hired by the victim’s mother who found Shepherd at the online nanny service eNannySource.com.

She learned of the alleged abuse at about the same time Shepherd reportedly admitted it to the nurse at Fletcher Allen. Vermont State Police Det. Ben Katz says the mother then contacted state agencies to report her concerns…

3 Accused of MySpace Rape

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

And yet another internet hook up gone bad.  It sounds like this escalated from partying to gang rape.

Read the entire story at the North County Times:

Brian Shippee is looking forward to prison dating.

Brian Shippee is looking forward to prison dating.

Three men accused of gang-raping an 18-year-old woman one of them had met via MySpace must stand trial on aggravated kidnapping, sodomy, forcible rape and other charges, a judge ruled Tuesday.

Robert Melgoza and Brian Shippee, both 21, and Vincent Barnett Jr., 22, all face possible sentences of life in prison if convicted of the attack, which is alleged to have occurred on the evening of May 13 and predawn hours of May 14, 2008.

Prosecutor Dan Rodriguez has said the teenager had met one of the attackers through the social networking Web site just hours earlier and had agreed to meet him in person at Palomar College.

After an evening of drinking brandy, the teenager was repeatedly raped and sodomized in San Marcos and Vista and then left nearly nude near a loading dock in the business park.

According to testimony in court Monday, she walked barefoot and clad only in a bedsheet and a T-shirt to find help, eventually coming upon a gas station where she called 911…
