What a horrid way to come into the world: in the home of two monsters.  It always that much more disturbing when a woman is involved in abuse.  It runs so contrary to the maternal instinct.  This child was restrained with a netting material, beaten with a belt, deprived of food, confined to a carboard box, among other things.  Let’s hope both these freak parents are confined for a long, long time.

The paid obituary for 5-year-old Carly Elizabeth Sawyer marks the passing of “God’s newest angel” with a reference to her father.

It highlights the man’s military service and how his child once followed him across America.

Left unsaid was that same man, 24-year Joshua Sawyer, formerly of Latham, is charged with second-degree murder after he allegedly tortured his child in Virginia last month – and that the child’s step-mother, Brandy Sawyer is charged with first-degree murder.

The child perished June 11 in a Chesapeake hospital, but not before allegedly falling victim to deadly child abuse that surfaced when her step-mother called 911 after Carly became unconscious on June 10. The couple told investigators Brandy Sawyer spanked the child and Carly “threw herself to the floor,” but officials were suspicious.

The child arrived at Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters with severe brain damage cuts, burns, bruises and restraint marks…
